When opening the packaging I was happily surprised it was packed with japanese news papers - which may seem mundane to some, but as a foreign person, they're really cool to see. Opening the knife was an experience, the black blade really shows. It's razor sharp, you can cut a tomato super thin without touching it. It's really comfortable in hand when using a pinch grip. All in all the craftsmanship shows, I'm really happy with my purchase!

When the knife arrived I was a bit disappointed at first as it was not as dark as outlined in the pictures, however that very quickly changed when I started to use it. It is still very beautiful, perfectly balanced and works very well, however because of the difference ein colour (which was the main reason why I ordered it in the first place) I can't give it a 5 star rating.
