The knife is fairly sharp out of the box and gets even sharper once you put it on a stone. Really nice weight and handling, has a comfortable grip and of course looms great.
very happy with knife, maybe the sharpest knife ive ever bought, beatiful to look at and works well so far. weight balance takes some getting used to, as handle is far lighter than western style knives i usually use, this makes knife feel front heavy, but i think i will get used to it over time.
The metal is super Sharp and hardened, but doesn't necessarily glide. Veggies get stuck to the side when chopping. I think I would get a softer and more polished metal that glides through vegetables.
It's an amazing knife that retains it's edge longer than most knives because of the hardness, but I think I'd rather have a smoother follow through on the vegetables and settle for having to sharpen more frequently.
