The Nakiri is a double bevel edged knife with thin blade profile and popular throughout Japan, it is mainly used by home cooks for quickly and efficiently chopping, slicing, and mincing vegetables, fruits, becoming popular knife among vegetarians.

Gingami 3 is categorized to stainless steel for its 13-14.5% Chromium blending ratio. Although it’s a corrosion-resistant stainless steel, actual feel of cutting is closer to the high-end carbon steel, The edge is not slippy but significantly grabbing object fibers.

Another reason why professional chef selects Gingami 3 is a good affinity to whetstones at hand re-sharpening. The combination with the soft stainless SUS405 outer layer provides further easiness to the blade sharpening. Neo-Classic Nashiji finish gives irresistible appeal to the series as well. The combination with the soft stainless SUS405 outer layer provides further easiness to the blade sharpening.

The Japanese term “Nashiji” (English: Pear skin pattern) refers to the result of a technique that appears to leave the surface finish of a blade looking unfinished and rustic.

A work of art

I bought this for my partner for Christmas this year, after getting him a zelite knife last year.
He is mad about the Japanese method of making knives and I really wanted
to get him something real that he would absolutely adore. The Nakiri knife is so beautiful, I couldn't help showing him the knife when it arrived. He isn't allowed to have it til Christmas day, but I definitely made the right choice! He is so happy and so am I. Thank you for the letter and for the care you took as well.

Just wonderful

The volume of positive reviews speaks for itself. Bought it as a gift for my father. The knife itself is fantastic: it is effortless to use, quite simply beautiful and a joy to own. With bespoke and excellent customer service I cannot recommend the product or company enough.

I purchased one of these knives maybe 5 years ago and have since purchased 3 more as gifts for friends, when they get married. I’ve never needed to sharpen this knife, and I rarely use any other knives in my kitchen.

Product Features

Handmade Forging

With the traditional forging process, the molecules of the iron material are finely tuned, leading to the completion of a "living kitchen knife" that breathes.

Durability

The process of heating and forging each material for mold making is repeated three or four times to quickly shape the blade and create durability before the carbon is released from the steel causing it to lose its original strength.

Sharpness

The blade is the most important factor in achieving the best possible sharpness. It is polished in our own blade factory to produce uncompromising sharpness.

Handle

The highest priority is placed on sturdiness, a sense of luxury, and a shape that is easy to grip and does not cause fatigue even after long hours of use.
