This knife has an excellent blade. but the handle came off. I got the same blade with a different handle for my boyfriend, also a chef, and his handle came off as well. I contacted the company to get it rectified and they did not respond to my inquiry. the material of the blade is fantastic, the handle is beautiful. the weight is nice, fits well in the hand. they just come off in pieces.
This is my first Japanese knife so I can't really compare to other good knives, but I can say it totally changed my life in the kitchen
