Bring a touch of refined opulence to your kitchen with this Santoku SKD11 Nickel Damascus Buffalo Ebony Handle 165mm. Meticulously crafted with a luxurious nickel damascus steel blade and an elegant ebony handle, this knife boasts an exquisite design that is perfect for completing your collection of haute couture cooking tools.

“Santoku" means an all-purpose knife, including meat, fish, and vegetables. It is designed to have both features of Japanese Nakiri (vegetable knife) and Japanese Gyuto (meat knife). Being highly convenient and practical, it is most widely used in households. Recommended for those new to Japanese kitchen knives and novice cooks.

The central core material SKD11 (alloy tool steel) used for the blade edge is a performance steel that is incredibly rich in Carbon equal to the famed Yasuki Aogami, and is tempered to the Rockwell 62-64 for exceptional sharpness and edge holding and properties.

Originally SKD11 steel was created for cutting metal. Its suitability for knife edges' comes from its resistance to abrasion and its ability to hold a cutting edge.
Also its high content of Chromium greatly contributes to the blade's anti-corrosion. Damascus outer Pure-Nickel layers will never rust.
This 73 layered material produces a rust resistant blade that will maintain its beautiful pattern perfection over the years.

The blade is a triple lamination that reproduces a traditional Damascus surface. The two Damascus outer layers are each made of 36 alternating forged layers of Pure-Nickel and SUS410 stainless steel polished to reveal a pattern that is as unique as a fingerprint.

Damascus is a laminated steel knife made of several layers of different steel materials. The center of the blade is made of hard steel for sharpness, and both sides are covered with multiple soft steel materials. The multiple steels are metallurgically joined, not by plating or glue. The more the blade is forged, the more complex the ripples become, and the more beautiful the unique grain pattern becomes.

Bought this knife for my boyfriend for his birthday. He wanted a sushi knife but the knowledgeable staff was able to educate me on the importance of starting out with a chef's knife and getting a feel for what you want in the tool.

The knife itself is beautiful, has a good weight, and is super sharp. We love the case it comes in and it's Read more about review stating Love ita definitely something we love showing off at parties.

Great knife!

This is the second one we have ordered. My wife uses the first one daily. It has wonderful balance and a sharp sharp edge. So I ended up getting a second one for myself.

Product Features

Handmade Forging

With the traditional forging process, the molecules of the iron material are finely tuned, leading to the completion of a "living kitchen knife" that breathes.

Durability

The process of heating and forging each material for mold making is repeated three or four times to quickly shape the blade and create durability before the carbon is released from the steel causing it to lose its original strength.

Sharpness

The blade is the most important factor in achieving the best possible sharpness. It is polished in our own blade factory to produce uncompromising sharpness.

Handle

The highest priority is placed on sturdiness, a sense of luxury, and a shape that is easy to grip and does not cause fatigue even after long hours of use.
