Gingami 3 is categorized to stainless steel for its 13-14.5% Chromium blending ratio. Although it’s a corrosion-resistant stainless steel, actual feel of cutting is closer to the high-end carbon steel, The edge is not slippy but significantly grabbing object fibers.

Another reason why professional chef selects Gingami 3 is a good affinity to whetstones at hand re-sharpening. The combination with the soft stainless SUS405 outer layer provides further easiness to the blade sharpening. Neo-Classic Nashiji finish gives irresistible appeal to the series as well. The combination with the soft stainless SUS405 outer layer provides further easiness to the blade sharpening.

The Japanese term “Nashiji” (English: Pear skin pattern) refers to the result of a technique that appears to leave the surface finish of a blade looking unfinished and rustic.

First Japanese Knife

After using the knives gifted as a wedding gift for 18 years, I wanted to expand my knife options. I looked into Japanese vs German. Watched many videos. Considered how I use I knife. After looking at options I decided on a santoku. I had some questions and had great correspondence with Allen. I ordered my knife, sheath, sharpening stone. Delivery was quick, however the package was damaged. I reached out to Allen who immediately corrected the situation and sent out replacements. I have had the opportunity to use the knife several times and it is amazing. Super smart, thin blade. Love using it. I am new to high end knives. So this is an amateur review. I believe this is an excellent first knife to start a collection. Thank you for amazing communication and service.

I highly recommend this knife. It's really cool.

Great universal knife

The product is very well made and looks beautiful. Perfect for someone who wants a more universal knife. Musashi also offered me the best customer support I could ever wish for. 10/10!

Super proud of my santoku

I am extremely satisfied with this wonderful found. It is beautifully made and it works like magic. Beautiful sturdy handle and a beautiful finish. I love it!

Perfect knife for a learning cook/chef!

This purchase was a birthday gift for my 17 year old son. He has an interest in learning to cook and understands the value of a good knife. He did the research and chose this one. Cost was great. He loves the feel. And he even let me chop with it and the edge was wonderful! Particularly after using less than ideal knives

Handmade Forging

With the traditional forging process, the molecules of the iron material are finely tuned, leading to the completion of a "living kitchen knife" that breathes.

The process of heating and forging each material for mold making is repeated three or four times to quickly shape the blade and create durability before the carbon is released from the steel causing it to lose its original strength.

The blade is the most important factor in achieving the best possible sharpness. It is polished in our own blade factory to produce uncompromising sharpness.

The highest priority is placed on sturdiness, a sense of luxury, and a shape that is easy to grip and does not cause fatigue even after long hours of use.
