Curious proportions

The website says the Saya is for a 165mm Deba, so I bought for my Deba of the same length. However, once I received the product and tested it with my knife it showed that i could easily fit a 170mm knife with a blade height of maybe 10-20mm more than what my knife has.

This leads to the knife wobbling around in the sheath, which I find a tad scary.

I’ve contacted Masashi about this, but was told that the Saya is made for their knifes only and that nothing could be done. Though I am a bit disappointed about the whole debacle I understand. Yet I am confused how a Saya for 165mm knives does not fit a knife of the same length.

In the end I have a wobbly Saya that still makes sure my Deba does not eat through the knife cover of my knife bag, which is better that being without one!

The product feels well made, however it says the pin is plywood, but is clearly plastic. It doesn’t bother me though.
