This Nakiri White Steel #2 Kurouchi Sumi Urushi Handle 165mm is crafted from superior White Steel #2, with a stunning kurouchi finish and an ergonomic urushi handle for a comfortable cutting experience. Elevate your culinary skills and show your creative flair with this high-performance Nakiri!

Mainly used for vegetables with a flat, rectangular blade, a flat tip and a thicker spine. Best for cutting Napa and cabbage into strips. Also suitable for peeling, chopping, rotary cutting, shaving, and making garnish.

Shirogami No.2 has minimal impurities and a very fine grain structure, so it is ideal for fine cutting tools such as Japanese traditional-style knives. Despite being a ‘simple’ carbon steel, Shirogami No.2 has very good edge retention and it is also very easy to re-sharpen. Recommended for first-time users of Japanese traditional-style knives.

Kurouchi Finish, the unprocessed (black) part on the top side of the blade has already developed a dark patina, which protects the blade and gives it a traditional Japanese look.
