This Santoku knife is ultra-premium, crafted with White steel #2, a Kurouchi finish, and an expertly-crafted Walnut handle. Its construction is masterful and elegant, allowing you to slice and dice through your ingredients with ease. Experience a level of sophistication the kitchen has never seen before.

“Santoku" means an all-purpose knife, including meat, fish, and vegetables. It is designed to have both features of Japanese Nakiri (vegetable knife) and Japanese Gyuto (meat knife). Being highly convenient and practical, it is most widely used in households. Recommended for those new to Japanese kitchen knives and novice cooks.

Shirogami No.2 has minimal impurities and a very fine grain structure, so it is ideal for fine cutting tools such as Japanese traditional-style knives. Despite being a ‘simple’ carbon steel, Shirogami No.2 has very good edge retention and it is also very easy to re-sharpen. Recommended for first-time users of Japanese traditional-style knives.

Kurouchi Finish, the unprocessed (black) part on the top side of the blade has already developed a dark patina, which protects the blade and gives it a traditional Japanese look.

Sharp like a razor

First of all, I enjoyed reading about all those different types of steel and how are they made.

I am cooking like once a day, so I don’t need a stainless one. I wanted a sharp carbon knife with this Kurouchi finish, willing to take care of it after I use it.

Every time I get the knife out of its sheath I get this special feeling while holding it in my hand. It is so sharp that I easily slice everything from vegetables to meat.
