Introducing the Santoku White steel #2 Kurouchi Chokin Pagoda Buffalo Ebony Handle 170mm. With its exclusive blend of White steel #2 and Kurouchi Chokin Pagoda craftsmanship, this knife offers an exquisite culinary experience sure to please even the most discerning of chefs. Combining sleek Buffalo Ebony Handle design with a blade length of 170mm, this knife is an artisanal kitchen tool of remarkable beauty and finesse.

“Santoku" means an all-purpose knife, including meat, fish, and vegetables. It is designed to have both features of Japanese Nakiri (vegetable knife) and Japanese Gyuto (meat knife). Being highly convenient and practical, it is most widely used in households. Recommended for those new to Japanese kitchen knives and novice cooks.

Shirogami No.2 has minimal impurities and a very fine grain structure, so it is ideal for fine cutting tools such as Japanese traditional-style knives. Despite being a ‘simple’ carbon steel, Shirogami No.2 has very good edge retention and it is also very easy to re-sharpen. Recommended for first-time users of Japanese traditional-style knives. The traditional style of Japanese carving has a long history of simplicity and inspiration. Although this technique (Chokin) is gradually disappearing into history, we hope to do our best to let more people feel its beauty. This is a limited edition of our kitchen knives in collaboration with the carver Asamura Takao, whose over 50 years of carving skills make each piece look so spiritual. Each design has been polished for months, even a year or more.

Kurouchi Finish, the unprocessed (black) part on the top side of the blade has already developed a dark patina, which protects the blade and gives it a traditional Japanese look.
