This knife is really good for butchering your prey. Separation of bones is a breeze. Good for 2-3 young boys before it needs sharpening.
It's a great knife, my first Japanese knife but certainly not my last.
I bought it mainly for larger root vegetables but I use it for almost all vegetables now, and I have Musashi Hamono's "Koyanagi Blue steel #2 Kurouchi Damascus Rosewood Handle 135mm" for more delicate vegetables like garlic. I highly recommend either knife.
The knife roll are just amazing..the quality is top and they are colorfull, light, practice..basically just amazing 👍👍
Superb knife, the weight feels just right, and it gest the job done. Looks even better in person than in the photos.
nice product, best quality!
I spent more time than I care to admit looking for a petty knife that was high quality and not crazy expensive and after owning this for about a month I am very pleased. The handle construction is spot on although it could have done with a bit of mineral oil to make the grain pop but this is easily fixed. The knife came hair popping sharp out of the box the edge with absolutely zero need for a touch up on a strop. I have used this knife as much as I can since it arrived and I have noticed no loss of edge so I am very impressed with the Aogami super.
The only criticisms I can make is that I would have preferred to see the spine and the heel of the knife rounded over slightly for a more comfortable pinch grip. This is only minor and the knife is still very comfortable to hold in a pinch grip.
I have noticed a patina developing where the stainless transitions to the Aogami super core steel but by no means is this a criticism and I fully expected this to happen. In fact, I am actually quite excided to see what the patina in the edge will look like in the future think it will add to the aesthetic.
Overall I am very happy with this knife and look forward to each time I get to use it.
Gyuto Stainless Clad Aogami-Super Suname Walnut Handle 210mm
I’ve been a user of hand forged Japanese steel for years now. This knife is simple beautiful in its shape, balance, handling, smoothness, and sharpness. I couldn’t ask for a better multi use knife in my kitchen.
I ordered this online and was really pleased with the quality of the item and that it arrived just a few days after I ordered it.
Beautiful to cook with, I love it for boning birds, as well as cutting vegetables
The Best knife I’ve owned! Very sharp, beautifully made. Recommending to everyone I know!
Rustic and razor sharp. Need a nice cutting board to not damage the blade .very thin
I am very happy with my purchase.
I have always wanted a Japanese crafted knife, so now I have one. The knife is beautifully crafted, well balanced and very sharp. Such a pleasure to use. It cuts, slices with such ease. I will definitely be buying another one. If you are thinking of buying one, then stop thinking and just buy one, you won’t regret it, I didn’t.
This is the first Japanese knife I have owned and though only having gotten it since Xmas I have decided that all kitchen knives in my future will be Japanese. It is even more beautiful than I had thought it would be and is an absolute dream to use. Thank you to the team at Musashi for producing such a wonderful knife
Kidding but it is truly one of the sharpest edges we have on any of our kitchen blades .
Chez Jace, Chef Extraordinaire described it as a well balanced and fine blade for its purpose.
It would be nice if the rosewood handle would have been pinned to the tang but still a nice knife.
