ASAMURA
A craftsman from Chiba Prefecture with over 50 years of experience in engraving techniques, Asamura creates beautiful works through chōkin (metal engraving), a process of carving intricate patterns and designs into metal surfaces.
CRAFTING A CHOKIN BLADE
MUSASHI JAPAN showcases the art of forging our premium and luxury blade known as CHOKIN (Gold Engraved Blade). Handcrafted by our in-house artisan, the blade showcases designs inspired by traditional Japanese motifs and folklore. The Asamura Chokin blades are our most sought-after collector's knives, requiring months to complete.

THE BEUTY OF
24-KARAT GOLD
Inspired by his predecessors, Asamura continually challenges himself to learn and innovate, despite frustrations that hinder smooth progress. For him, designing a knife is a process of trial and error, with the final result only revealed through practice.
A key influence on his engraving is the Japanese art of HAIGA, which combines a short poem with a single image. He believes this philosophy perfectly complements his work, particularly in engraving 24-carat gold.
