Repairs

By submitting an item to Musashi Japan for repair, you (“the Customer”) agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

Terms and Conditions

1. Ownership and Custody

At all times, the item submitted for repair remains the sole property of the Customer. Musashi Japan does not claim ownership or assume title to any item sent for repair. Our role is strictly that of a service provider contracted to perform repair work on your behalf.

2. Nature of the Service

The service offered constitutes a contract for repair only. Musashi Japan undertakes to assess, repair, and return the item to the Customer using a delivery method agreed upon at the time of transaction. This contract does not involve the sale or transfer of goods, nor does it constitute a consumer goods transaction under domestic or foreign sales law.

3. Shipping Responsibility

While Musashi Japan may, at its discretion, cover the cost of return shipping as a courtesy to the Customer, responsibility for the item during shipping remains with the Customer at all times. Musashi Japan is not liable for loss, delay, damage, or theft that may occur in transit, regardless of who arranged or paid for the shipment.

Risk of loss passes to the Customer upon transfer of the repaired item to the courier service. We strongly recommend that Customers ensure adequate insurance and tracking for all shipments, particularly for high-value or irreplaceable items.

4. Limitation of Liability

Musashi Japan accepts no liability for any damage, theft, or loss of the item once it has been delivered to the courier and marked as “delivered” to the Customer’s designated address. We are not responsible for customs-related delays or inspections.

Musashi Japan shall not be liable for damage incurred during shipping, or for issues arising from incorrect shipping information provided by the Customer.

5. Compensation Policy

Musashi Japan will only consider compensation in cases where the item is irreparably damaged as a direct result of negligence or mishandling by our craftsmen during the repair process. Determination of such fault will be at the sole discretion of Musashi Japan, following internal investigation and reasonable evidence.

In such cases, compensation will be limited to the documented market value of the item at the time of repair submission. No compensation will be issued for consequential losses, sentimental value, indirect damages, or third-party handling.

6. Repair Outcomes and Limitations

All repairs are conducted by experienced craftsmen using traditional and modern methods, as appropriate to the item and repair requested. Musashi Japan makes no guarantee as to the aesthetic outcome or performance of the item post-repair beyond what was explicitly agreed. Minor imperfections or evidence of previous damage may remain following repair.

7. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising from or in connection with the repair service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan. Customers engaging Musashi Japan’s repair services from outside Japan agree to this jurisdiction and waive any conflict of law principles.
