VG-1 (Takefu Special Steel Co., Ltd.) is quality Japanese High Carbon Stainless Steel that is popular for making cutlery. It has good corrosion resistance, edge retention and edge sharpness and is capable of achieving a relatively high Rockwell hardness.

Awesome quality. I took a trip to Japan earlier this year and was able to visit the storefront, which definitely made me want to purchase a knife for my brother in-law who loves working in the kitchen. I got him this knife with his name engraved on it in Japanese as a Christmas gift. He couldn't stop talking about how beautifully made and well crafted the blade was. 🤍 Highly recommend this shop and I'm extremely grateful for those who take pride in not only the quality of these blades but, the sale and making sure that it arrived in a timely manner. Good knife

Grwat looking knife very sharp works great only thing is I’m a chef and was using it as my daily knife and the handle is a little lose now. Nothing major just thought it would hold up a little better. I only use it for veggies mainly now but still love it!
