“Engraving a name on a knife is, to me, like giving it life—just as drawing in the eyes of a Daruma doll. It’s the final step that completes the soul of the blade.”

About Harada Knives
The Harada Craftsman Collection at MUSASHI JAPAN features a selection of knives meticulously handcrafted by Harada Takayuki, a master artisan specializing in engraved steel craftsmanship. Many of the knives crafted by Harada are made using Shirogami #2 (White #2) and VG10 steel. While VG10 is commonly manufactured using press processing today, Harada’s VG10 knives are carefully hand-forged one by one using traditional techniques from Sakai. This hand-forging process brings out the full potential of the material, resulting in knives with excellent durability, well-balanced sharpness, and superior corrosion resistance.
